Banking

To open a bank account in the Netherlands you will need to visit a bank and bring along the following documents:

Valid ID, Proof of address (your rental agreement or a recent utility bill should be sufficient).
Some banks also require proof of regular income such as a pay slip or contract.

Opening a bank account will allow you to use services such as iDEAL. The Dutch government, local municipalities, and most employers prefer you to have a Dutch bank for financial transactions.
