During the Summer holiday, Rijksmuseum Boerhaave is organising fun activities for children.
In an educational and creative way, children get to work with health and disease throughout the centuries. Make your own beak mask or explore the 'scary' wash-your-hands microbe. Set off with the Doctor's Bag or follow the Maths Route. Watch the special video show in the anatomical theatre or go on a Canon quest in the museum. Visit the new exciting family exhibition "Animal Academy" at Museum Volkenkunde in Leiden. In the exhibition, twelve animals are in charge of their own classroom, teaching the visitors their point of view of the world. Museum Voorschoten is situated in the Voorstraat, in the heart of the historic town. The museum exhibits everything of, for and about Voorschoten, with a focus on the history of the town. From artefacts and everyday objects to prints, photos, postcards, books and local archaeological finds. The museum organises exhibitions and activities involving people, events and objects characteristic of Voorschoten. In addition, lectures and other cultural events take place at the museum.

A visit to the Archeon will be fun for the whole family. The open-air museum provides a trip through the history of the Netherlands. The museum takes you on a journey to a hunter-gatherer camp of prehistoric time, followed by the first farmers, the Bronze Age, and Iron Age. You can also visit a Roman town with a temple and bathhouse. Finally, the journey will take you to the Middle Ages to a town in the 14th Century.

Young Rembrandt Studio
In the Young Rembrandt Studio, the 17th-century house at Langebrug 89 in Leiden, Rembrandt spent his younger years (1606 – 1630) learning how to draw, paint and make etchings at the hand of his mentor Jacob van Swanenburgh. This is a unique stop on the Leiden Rembrandt route that gives a glimpse into the life of the young Rembrandt.
