This year, Duivenvoorde will be all about flowers: a Blossoming Duivenvoorde. This will tie in with the 200th anniversary of the Mauritshuis. Duivenvoorde and the Mauritshuis in The Hague have a special connection: Johan Steengracht van Oostcapelle, the first director of the Mauritshuis, was the grandfather of the nineteenth-century lord Hendricus Adolphus. This special family connection is demonstrated using various unique pieces from the collection.

For the first time, the earliest catalogue of the Mauritshuis will be displayed, handwritten in 1818 by Steengracht himself.  Numerous engravings from the painting collection of the time, letters, books about nature, gardening, flowers, butterflies and the most beautiful dresses, dinner sets and wall hangings filled with the most sumptuous floral motifs will be on display.

Duivenvoorde is rich in stories. You can visit the castle on your own (with an audio tour) or book an exclusive (group) tour with a subject or theme of your choice.  Every year there is a changing exhibition in the museum.
