Clearing your head is temporary

| Rooted in Calm

Clearing your head is temporary, like clearing your browsing history on your laptop. Cleansing your mind is lasting, not a one-off clean-up. Creating a regular practice to bring calm and stillness to your mind is a maintenance activity that is most beneficial when it becomes part of your life.

The ultimate form of intrinsic motivation is when a habit becomes part of your identity it's one thing to say I'm the type of person who wants this. It's something very different to say I am the type of person who is this. -James Clear

I love this quote because for years I wanted to be the type of person that had balanced, meditated, dedicated time and space to my wants. Now I am the person who is (mostly) balanced, meditates regularly, and just embarked on yoga teacher training. Cultivating a calm that works for me, that adjusts with my life.

Does this somehow seem elusive and not attainable? Then click here to get some simple solutions that can help you today.

Creating new habits and setting different goals can help support you as you shift towards a way of living that is more I AM, and less I WANT TO. If you would like some additional support in setting goals to create that I AM life please join Allyson Kukel, Founder of Rooted in Calm for a workshop at the Leiden Expat Centre on the 12th of March from 10:30 - 12:00, for more information click here.
