Our services

BplusC is the main provider of library services and art and culture education in Leiden and its environs. Every year, over 7,000 students take lessons or courses at BplusC, while more than one million people come to our activities and buildings. Also, we have almost 30,000 library members. Some 24,000 pupils from primary and secondary education take part in our projects and activities. This makes BplusC the largest cultural organisation in the area. Under the banner of ‘life-long learning’ we provide a programme packed full of knowledge, of society, art and culture, and with plenty opportunities for personal development. We offer high quality in the fields of literature, language, the media, music, art and culture, at all levels, from beginners to advanced learners.

Education/courses

BplusC is Leiden's leading Centre of Art and Culture, organizing a wide variety of courses for both children and adults in Leiden, Wassenaar, Oegstgeest, Voorschoten and Leiderdorp. BplusC offers different courses in English: photography, theatre and cookery courses as well as language courses, including English and Dutch at different levels, and Spanish and Italian for beginners.

In addition, all dance, music and visual arts courses are readily accessible to English-speaking participants. The language of tuition will be Dutch but the terminology used is either international or else can easily be translated by the teacher. We are happy to provide participants with further information and advice, always in consultation with the teachers concerned.

Applications for music lessons will be dealt with as much as possible according to the applicant’s request/wishes and on the availability of the teachers concerned.
