Celebrate the holiday season at the movies
No better time of year than those dreary December days to sit back snuggly and enjoy the best that the silver screen has to offer. Leiden’s three cinemas – Lido theatre, Trianon theatre and Kijkhuis – present a month full of holiday-worthy films for young and old to enjoy.
A gorgeous family-friendly adventure, Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck is a magically beautiful New York fairytale. It follows two deaf children in two different decades, who are connected in more than just one way. Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams star in this must-see gem that will not leave a dry eye in the house, from 7 December.
The wait is almost over: on 13 December, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will finally arrive. Time to catch up on all the goings-on in a galaxy far far away, where Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Leia (Carrie Fisher in her final role), Rey (Daisy Ridley) and many others will return. Expect a true spectacle.
Breathe is the true story of Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield), an adventurous man who is disabled by polio, and his wife Diana (Claire Foy), who refuses to give up. An inspiring tale of love, family and perseverance.
