The Leiden Science Run is a 4.44 km charity run at the Leiden Bio Science Park. It is a relay race organized by Leiden University in collaboration with the University Sports Centre, the Leiden Bio Science Park and running club Currimus.

This charity run is a 4.44 kilometres relay race, with teams of four people (each team member runs 4.44 kilometres). The goal is to raise money for the UAF, Foundation for Refugee Students. In addition to the registration fee of 25 euros per team, we ask participants to engage family, friends and colleagues to sponsor them.

In 2019 Leiden University celebrates its 444 years birthday. This special birthday calls for a special celebration. That is why we have adjusted the distance of this edition to 4.44 km instead of 5 km.

The start and finish are in front of the entrance of the Faculty of Science (Einsteinweg 55), near the Gorlaeus Lecture Hall. The trail is 4.44 kilometres long and leads through the Bio Science Park in Leiden. The race will start at 12.00 hrs, the award ceremony will start around 15.00 hrs.

All the raised money will be donated to the UAF, the Foundation for Refugee Students. The UAF supports and counsels highly skilled refugees. It offers financial support for their study and councels them about study choices and career opportunities. Since 1948 the Foundation for Refugee Students (UAF) supports and counsels highly skilled refugees in the Netherlands. We help them with their study and finding suitable employment.
