The young Joeri Dubbe from Haarlem took his chances in 2008 when he left a succesful dancing career with the Dutch Dance Theatre behind him to try his luck as a freelance dancer and choreographer. He created his first evening filling programme for the CaDance festival: Chrono was born. With an eye for detail concerning music, costumes and lighting, together with light designer Tom Visser, Dubbe dives into the relationship between man and technology. Are we being poisoned slowly by the technology that surrounds us? Are we slowly changing into robots, or is technology offering us the opportunity to grow? Chrono creates a world in which the difference between fact and fiction is intangible. The characters fight their way out of an illusion, as reality closes in.
