Dance group Amsterdam – Generations

Dance group Amsterdam – Generations

‘Generations’ is a display of choreographies by three generations of dance artists with varying backgrounds. For Krisztina de Châtel, the control of mind and body is a priority. She conquers the dance floor with a combination of dance, visual arts and design. For ‘Generations’, she has created a choreography to the music of Piazzolla's 'Eight Seasons'. Guest choreographer Michael Schumacher used to dance in William Forsythe’s group for five years. In 2008, he won the Golden Swan award. His choreographies originate from within the dancers with whom he develops a concept which serves as the backbone of the end result. The youthful talent is represented by the Scottish guest choreographer William Collins. With citations from films such as als 'Pretty Woman', 'A farewell to arms' and 'Aladdin', Collins displays his fascination for the desperation and futility which can arise from miscommunication between people.
